Prosecutors have added a sixth charge against suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner for Crime Detection, Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya.
The new charge relates to the alleged unlawful storage of a firearm.
Sibiya’s bail application resumed in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court, where he is facing a number of serious allegations.
He already faces charges including rape, human trafficking and the alleged sexual grooming of a 16-year-old girl.
The state is expected to continue presenting its case as the bail proceedings get underway.
