Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found in Dawn Park, Boksburg.
The suspects a man and two women, were arrested over the weekend by the Gauteng Murder and Robbery Unit.
They are expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The arrest comes amid growing concern following the discovery of the bodies of nine women in different parts of the East Rand over the past two months.
Four women were found in Rhodesfield, Kempton Park, while two bodies were discovered in Olifantsfontein. Another woman was found near the Mall of Tembisa.
A further body was discovered dumped outside a clinic in KwaThema, before the ninth body was found in Dawn Park on Thursday.
Acting National Police Commissioner Puleng Dimpane says investigators are pursuing all available leads.
“Our investigators are following all available leads and are working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice,” Dimpane said.
Police have not indicated whether the Dawn Park murder is linked to the other cases.
