Businessman Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni is expected to appear before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria on Friday morning.
Sibanyoni has been accused of running an extortion operation and laundering money. He allegedly forced a mining executive to pay more than R2.2 million in unlawful “protection fees”.
His appearance comes after former Hawks head Dr Godfrey Lebeya testified before the commission on Thursday.
Lebeya denied knowing murder accused Katiso “KT” Molefe and rejected allegations that he interfered with a police operation at Molefe’s home in Sandton, Johannesburg, in December 2024.
The former Hawks boss is expected to return to the commission at a date that has yet to be announced.
The Madlanga Commission is investigating allegations of criminality, corruption and the possible infiltration of South Africa’s criminal justice system.
