President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to host Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa in Pretoria for the fourth session of the South Africa-Zimbabwe Bi-National Commission (BNC).
The meeting will provide an opportunity for the two leaders to assess progress in implementing existing agreements between the neighbouring countries and explore ways to further strengthen bilateral relations.
The Bi-National Commission was established in April 2015 as the main platform for managing and advancing the strategic partnership between South Africa and Zimbabwe.
During the upcoming session, the two governments are expected to review cooperation across various areas and consider opportunities to deepen collaboration.
South Africa and Zimbabwe have so far concluded more than 33 agreements and memoranda of understanding covering a range of sectors.
The BNC is aimed at ensuring that these commitments are implemented while identifying new areas of cooperation that could benefit both countries.
