The head of the Investigative Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), Advocate Andrea Johnson, is expected to testify before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on Tuesday morning after her appearance was postponed last week due to a medical emergency.
Johnson was scheduled to take the stand last Monday but was unable to do so after being rushed to hospital shortly before her testimony.
Her appearance comes after several witnesses implicated her in allegations that she interfered with investigations and obstructed the course of justice in a matter involving suspended Crime Intelligence deputy head Major General Feroz Khan.
Witnesses have alleged that Johnson shared sensitive information relating to an investigation into claims that Khan assaulted and intimidated Crime Intelligence Brigadier Leonora Phetle in 2018.
The commission is expected to question Johnson on the allegations and her alleged role in the handling of the case.
She is also expected to face questions regarding a separate matter involving Lieutenant-General Dumisani Khumalo and former BMW engineer-turned-SAPS Brigadier Dineo Mokwele.
The Madlanga Commission continues to hear evidence into allegations of misconduct, interference and irregularities within South Africa's law enforcement and intelligence structures.
