Man Shot Dead Near Truck on Durban's South Coast Road

A man was shot and killed in Durban's Rossburgh area on Friday morning in what is the latest fatal shooting reported in the city.

ALS Paramedics responded to the incident at approximately 9am after receiving reports of a shooting on South Coast Road near Edwin Swales Drive.

When emergency responders arrived, they found members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) and private security personnel already at the scene, with the area around a truck cordoned off.

Paramedics were directed to a man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Despite efforts to assess the victim, he showed no signs of life and was declared dead at the scene.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, and the motive has not yet been established.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are expected to determine the events that led to the fatal shooting.

No arrests have been reported at this stage.
