A man convicted of murdering a young boy and attempting to kill the child’s older brother has been sentenced to two life terms in prison.
The case dates back to December 2024, when the young boy was reported missing after his seven-year-old brother was allegedly attacked by their stepfather with what was believed to be a panga.
The older child sustained critical injuries during the assault.
Police later arrested the suspect, who subsequently agreed to lead members of the South African Police Service to the missing child’s body.
The boy’s remains were recovered and handed over to police as part of the investigation.
The accused was found guilty of the murder of the young boy and the attempted murder of his older brother and was sentenced to two life imprisonment terms.
