Prominent Lekompo musician Lehlogonolo Chauke, widely known as Shebe Maburna, is expected to return to the High Court of South Africa in Polokwane on Wednesday morning for another bail appeal.
Chauke’s second bail application in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court was dismissed earlier this month after he reapplied for bail on what his legal team described as new grounds.
His first bail application was denied in December last year.
The musician is facing 20 charges, including three counts of attempted murder, malicious damage to property and illegal possession of a firearm.
Additional charges were added earlier this month when Chauke made his first appearance in the Regional Court ahead of his trial.
The matter was postponed to allow the defence team time to study the newly added charges.
Chauke has remained in custody since his arrest in November 2025.
He previously approached the High Court in January in an attempt to secure bail, but that application was also dismissed.
His legal team has now decided to return to the High Court in another effort to secure his release before the trial begins.
