Convicted insurance killer and former police officer Nomia Rosemary Ndlovu and her co-accused Nomsa Mudau have been found guilty of attempting to hire a hitman to kill Mudau’s former husband.
The pair appeared before the Kempton Park Regional Court on Wednesday in connection with an alleged plot to murder Justice Mudau.
During the trial, Justice testified that he had been approached by a man claiming to be a hitman who allegedly revealed that he had been paid to carry out the murder. Instead of following through with the plan, the alleged hitman warned Justice about the plot against his life.
Ndlovu is currently serving six concurrent life sentences, along with an additional 125 years’ imprisonment, at the Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre.
She was convicted in 2021 for the murders of six family members, crimes linked to fraudulent funeral and life insurance claims. Ndlovu also remains in custody while facing further charges relating to an alleged conspiracy to kill the police officer who investigated her case.
The matter forms part of a broader investigation into murders allegedly committed for insurance payouts, a case that shocked the country and exposed an extensive pattern of insurance-related killings.
