The vehicle was extensively damaged after being struck by multiple gunshots, with a large number of spent cartridges recovered at the scene, suggesting the use of high-calibre firearms.
Paramedics from a private ambulance service treated the passenger, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, before transporting him to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
The driver of the vehicle sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on the scene.
