A family of seven has been killed in a brutal attack in Newark on KwaZulu-Natal’s north coast.
The victims, aged between their 20s and 80s, include four women and three men. Their bodies were discovered in a field in Melmoth on Thursday morning. Authorities say the victims had been both shot and stabbed.
South African Police Service officers have arrested three suspects in connection with the murders. The arrests were made after the suspects were found in possession of two cellphones belonging to the victims.
Police have also recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the attack, as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the killings.
