Presentencing proceedings for Julius Malema have resumed at the East London Regional Court, marking a critical stage in the case against the Economic Freedom Fighters leader.
Hundreds of supporters gathered outside the court on Tuesday, demonstrating in support of Malema as proceedings got underway.
Malema was previously found guilty of discharging a firearm in public after firing several shots in front of a crowd during the party’s fifth anniversary celebrations in 2018.
His co-accused, Adriaan Snyman, was acquitted of all charges related to the incident.
