Thousands of football fans were left frustrated after slow processing times and server errors disrupted ticket sales for the upcoming Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
Tickets for the highly anticipated clash, scheduled for 26 April, went on sale at midday on Monday. However, the ticketing system experienced technical issues and ultimately crashed, preventing many supporters from securing seats.
According to reports, the MyTicket system went offline nearly an hour after sales opened. The disruption comes after tickets for last month’s encounter between the two rivals sold out within two hours.
Meanwhile, organisers have confirmed a change in the match date. The fixture, initially set for 25 April, has been moved to Sunday, 26 April.
The adjustment follows confirmation from Stadium Management South Africa that the Nasrec precinct will host a music festival on the Saturday.
