A major power fault has disrupted electricity supply in parts of Johannesburg, leaving residents facing repeated outages.
Utility provider City Power Johannesburg confirmed that a distribution bar flash damaged infrastructure in the Roodepoort area, triggering ongoing instability in the network.
The fault has resulted in multiple power trips, with electricity supply repeatedly failing even after restoration attempts.
City Power said technical teams have been deployed to assess the extent of the damage and determine the exact location of the fault.
Repairs are expected to take up to four days, depending on the severity and complexity of the damage, the utility added.
