Police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old woman in the Johannesburg inner city on Monday.
The incident occurred at the corner of Fox and Joubert streets, where the woman was reportedly attacked in broad daylight.
According to Gauteng police, preliminary information suggests the victim was followed by two unidentified suspects, who then opened fire before fleeing the scene on foot.
Gauteng police spokesperson Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed that no arrests have been made at this stage, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
