Three suspects have been killed following a shootout with police in Benoni on the East Rand.
The South African Police Service in Gauteng said the incident followed a high-speed chase linked to a hijacking, attempted murder, and kidnapping case reported in Crystal Park during the early hours of Thursday morning.
According to police, officers responded after the victim was allegedly targeted but was not physically harmed during the ordeal.
The chase ended in a shootout, resulting in the deaths of the three suspects.
Authorities recovered two firearms at the scene, along with several items believed to belong to the victim.
Police say investigations into the incident are continuing.
