The City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Service said the victim’s body was discovered after firefighters brought the blaze under control.

“We had crews from Kraaifontein, Brackenfell, Bellville and Brooklyn on the scene. By 02:20 firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze that destroyed six informal structures and left approximately 11 persons displaced,” Carelse said.
