KwaZulu-Natal Police are searching for four Johannesburg residents wanted in connection with a fraud case in Pietermaritzburg. The suspects have been identified as Lucinda Langton, Shaun Minnaar, Keegan Agulhas, and Sabelo Mullela.

The case dates back to April 2020, when a 60-year-old woman deposited the outstanding balance for a house she had purchased. Her son-in-law had previously paid the deposit and later provided her with updated bank details for the company handling the sale.

Upon following up with the business, she discovered the funds had not been credited to their account. KZN SAPS spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo confirmed that the account into which the money was deposited did not belong to the company.

“A preliminary investigation revealed that the account number used belonged to a certain individual and that the funds were subsequently transferred into the accounts of the above-mentioned suspects,” Ngcobo said.

Police are urging anyone with information on the suspects’ whereabouts to contact Detective Constable Lawrence on 076 428 7836, call Crime Stop at 08600 10111, or submit tips via the MySAPS App.
