Nine minibuses were destroyed in a fire at the Nyanga Taxi Rank in the early hours of Friday morning.
The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 1am, when several vehicles parked at the rank were set alight.
Preliminary reports indicate that five Toyota Quantum minibuses and four Iveco Sprinter taxis were destroyed in the blaze.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains unknown and investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The African National Congress in the Western Cape has condemned the torching of the vehicles, describing the incident as deeply concerning.
