Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube has praised the matric class of 2025 for their perseverance and commitment as the country prepares for the release of the national examination results.
Gwarube is scheduled to announce the top achievers, along with the national and provincial pass rates, on Monday. Individual results will be made available on Tuesday.
The Department of Basic Education has confirmed that the results will be published in all accredited newspapers. These will include candidates’ examination numbers and marks, but will exclude names, surnames and identity numbers.
Addressing anxious matriculants, Gwarube commended their efforts and offered reassurance to those who may be disappointed with their outcomes.
“To the matric class of 2025, as we anticipate the release of the 2025 matric examination results on Monday, I want to congratulate you for your discipline, your effort and your resilience. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves. South Africa is proud of you,” she said.
She added that learners who did not achieve the results they had hoped for should not lose heart. “This is not the end of the road. There are multiple opportunities for you to try again and continue your journey,” Gwarube said.
