The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a series of weather warnings, with alert levels reaching as high as Orange Level 9 in some areas.
Heavy rainfall and localised flooding are forecast for parts of Limpopo and Mpumalanga, with communities urged to remain vigilant as the conditions could trigger mudslides, rockfalls and damage to property.
Meanwhile, the Western Cape and Eastern Cape are expected to experience a heatwave, creating extreme and contrasting weather conditions across the country.
Authorities have advised residents in affected regions to take the necessary precautions as the severe weather system unfolds.
