The South African Weather Service has issued an Orange Level 5 warning for severe thunderstorms in parts of KwaZulu-Natal, with adverse weather conditions expected to pose a significant risk.
A Yellow Level 4 warning is also in effect for Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The warnings signal the possibility of heavy rainfall, intense lightning, damaging winds and hail.
Residents in affected areas have been cautioned about potential flooding, particularly on roads and in low-lying areas, as weather conditions deteriorate.
Meanwhile, a Yellow Level 2 warning has been issued for parts of the North West and the Free State, indicating a lower but still notable risk of disruptive weather.
