Several provinces are preparing for renewed bouts of severe weather, with the South African Weather Service issuing a Level 4 warning for Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and parts of Limpopo. Forecasters say residents should brace for heavy downpours, damaging winds, hail, and possible flash floods.
Gauteng has already endured a series of storms in recent days, including one in Pretoria that claimed a life. The approaching system is expected to intensify conditions further.
KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape have also been placed under a Level 2 alert, with disaster-prone areas once again at risk of flooding and weather-related damage.
Disaster management teams nationwide are on high alert, urging communities to exercise caution, avoid low-lying areas, and report emergencies promptly because when the skies open, it’s rarely the start of a romantic movie montage.
