The Office of the Public Protector has confirmed that it will investigate President Cyril Ramaphosa following a complaint lodged by the MK Party, which accuses the president of violating the Executive Ethics Code.
According to the Public Protector, the inquiry will focus on potential breaches involving abuse of power, improper conduct and failures to uphold the responsibilities of the executive office. The case also revisits earlier concerns raised during Ramaphosa’s tenure, including allegations of using state resources to shield himself and political allies.
The MK Party maintains that the investigation is essential to ensure accountability at the highest level of government.
