The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning for a heat wave, with persistently high temperatures expected over the Witzenberg Municipality in the Western Cape on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecaster Christopher Nkosi said the extreme heat will affect the province’s western regions.
“Very hot to extremely hot and uncomfortable conditions are expected over the West Coast, Cape Winelands, and the City of Cape Town Municipalities, as well as the Namakwa District in the Northern Cape on Tuesday,” Nkosi said.
Residents are advised to take precautions to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during the heat wave.
