Four former Transnet executives accused in a multi-billion-rand corruption case have been granted bail of R50,000 each following their appearance in court on Monday.
Brian Molefe, Siyabonga Gama, Anoj Singh, and Thamsanqa Jiyane face charges related to a controversial locomotive procurement deal valued at over R90 million, which forms part of the broader R5-billion Transnet corruption scandal. The matter was also a key focus in the State Capture Commission’s investigations.
The charges stem from alleged irregularities during their tenure at the state-owned freight and logistics company. The case has been postponed as investigations continue.
