KwaZulu-Natal police have launched investigations into a case of murder and carjacking following a deadly ambush in Newlands West, northern Durban.
Authorities say a 28-year-old man was attacked by four armed suspects while sitting in his vehicle in the Chippendale area on Tuesday night. The assailants allegedly demanded the victim’s car before fatally shooting him and fleeing with the stolen vehicle.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but paramedics could not save the victim. ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson confirmed the man had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene.
Police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in identifying and locating the suspects.
