A KwaMbonambi family is appealing to the public for help as they continue the agonising search for their loved one, Thubelihle Qwabe, who has been missing since the beginning of April.
The 37-year-old, who has been living in Durban for the past decade, was last seen in the city’s central business district. According to his sister, Lihle Qwabe, Thubelihle was last known to be working as a drummer at a church in Hammarsdale but has not reported to the church or been seen by friends since his disappearance.
The last contact the family received was a brief and emotional message sent to his mother, reading: "I love you."
“We are desperate for any information,” said Lihle. “What we wish for is to get information on his whereabouts. If anyone has seen him in April or now, please come forward and tell us where you saw him. We’ll go wherever he is to look.”
She said the family has checked his usual residence and contacted people close to him, but no one has been able to provide any clues about his whereabouts. His phone remains off, deepening the family’s concern.
Thubelihle was last seen wearing black pants and a grey shirt on Joseph Nduli Street in central Durban.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward to assist the family in locating their missing relative.
