The Departments of Labour and Home Affairs have launched a joint operation targeting businesses in the Isithebe Industrial Park in KwaZulu-Natal. The clampdown aims to enforce labour legislation and identify undocumented foreign nationals working in the area.
Deputy Ministers from both departments are personally overseeing the inspections, which form part of a broader national drive to address illegal employment practices and strengthen border control.
Home Affairs Deputy Minister Njabulo Nzuza confirmed that several individuals had presented fraudulent documents during the checks.
"We’re conducting thorough verifications to determine the authenticity of the documents provided,” Nzuza said.
The raids are expected to continue as officials assess levels of compliance with labour laws and immigration regulations across the industrial zone.
