Two suspects linked to the attempted murder of a SARS advocate have been denied bail by the Durban Magistrate's Court. Mcebisi Runeyi and Siyanda Mbulwana, who appeared in court on Thursday, are accused of being involved in the shooting of Advocate Coreth Naude in July.

Naude was ambushed by gunmen near a hotel in Umhlanga while investigating a tax case involving a prominent Durban businesswoman. She survived the attack but sustained injuries to her neck and mouth.

The case was remanded to 28 March 2025 for further investigation, with KZN NPA spokesperson Natasha Kara confirming that bail was refused for both suspects.
