Authorities in Limpopo are urging spaza shop owners to complete their business registrations before the February 28 deadline. Those who fail to comply risk facing closure due to non-compliance.
So far, more than 4,400 applications have been finalized in the province, with over 480 applications received from foreign nationals.
Provincial Economic Development Department spokesperson Zaid Kalla emphasized the importance of meeting the deadline. “The registration process will officially close on February 28, 2025. We encourage all aspiring and existing spaza shop owners to finalize their applications. It would be unfortunate to see businesses shut down due to non-compliance,” he said.
Business owners are encouraged to take advantage of the remaining time to secure their permits and ensure their operations remain legal.
