Five individuals, including three Mexican nationals, are scheduled to appear in the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court on April 14, 2025, following a major drug bust in Limpopo. The group, led by Frederick Botha, appeared in court on Tuesday, where their case was postponed.
The suspects were arrested in July 2024 at a farm in Groblersdal, where police uncovered over R2 billion worth of illegal drugs. Authorities allege the group was operating a sophisticated drug manufacturing laboratory at the Thaba Monate farm.
Investigations revealed that the three Mexican nationals had been living in South Africa illegally for over two years. The accused face several charges, including drug trafficking and dealing in illegal substances.
The case has now been transferred to the Groblersdal Regional Court, where the suspects will continue to face the charges. They remain in police custody as the investigation unfolds.
