Multiple School Children Injured in Head-On Collision in Pinetown

A collision involving two vehicles, one of which was carrying schoolchildren, has left several children injured in Pinetown, west of Durban. The incident occurred on Coventry Road in New Germany on Tuesday morning.

According to Garrith Jamieson, spokesperson for ALS Paramedics, the crash involved a head-on collision between two cars, one of which was transporting children to school.

"Paramedics arrived on the scene to find multiple children injured," Jamieson said. "Additional ambulances and Advanced Life Support Paramedics were immediately called in to assist."

A total of eight children were injured in the crash and were stabilized at the scene before being transported to various hospitals in Durban for further treatment.

The cause of the crash remains unclear, and both the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Metro Police are investigating the incident. Authorities are expected to provide more details as the investigation progresses.
