Some eThekwini Municipality residents will experience restricted water supply this week as the city undertakes critical leak repairs on a bulk steel pipeline running from the Northdene Reservoir to the Chatsworth 1 Reservoir.

The affected areas include households supplied by the Firwood, Northdene, Shallcross, Klaarwater, and Chatsworth 4 Reservoirs. The municipality expects to complete repairs by Friday, but full water restoration could take up to seven days, depending on reservoir levels, water demand, and supply conditions.

To mitigate the impact, water tankers will be deployed to affected communities, including all sections of Umlazi and Folweni. Residents are urged to use water sparingly and stay updated through official municipal channels.
