AfriForum has expressed support for Norton Rose Fulbright SA's court challenge against a new legal sector code aimed at increasing black participation in South Africa's legal industry. The law firm argues the code imposes unreasonable demands on large firms.
AfriForum's Head of Public Relations, Ernst van Zyl, criticized the code as "racially discriminatory legislation," stating that transformation goals should be pursued through alternative methods rather than expanding race-based policies. Van Zyl warned that such legislation would fuel greater societal division and race-focused discourse.
