A toddler is currently recovering in hospital following a near-drowning incident in Kloof on Wednesday morning. Paramedics responded to the scene at a private residence on Springdale Road, where the approximately one-year-old girl was found in a swimming pool.
According to ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, the child's family had already begun administering CPR when emergency services arrived. "Advanced life support paramedics found the child awake and crying upon arrival. She was in stable condition and was transported to a hospital for further checkups."
Jamieson highlighted the importance of CPR in emergencies, stating, "This incident underscores the critical role of CPR, as it can save lives." The toddler is expected to make a full recovery.
