Former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Secretary-General Godrich Gardee has declined to comment on speculation that he may seek the position of Deputy President at the party's third National People’s Assembly.

The EFF is set to elect its new leadership during the conference, with party leader Julius Malema expected to serve a third term as President. The Deputy President position became vacant following the departure of Floyd Shivambu, who joined the newly formed uMkhonto weSizwe Party led by Jacob Zuma.

Speaking at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec this morning, Gardee stated that the decision to contest the role is not in his hands.

“The question will be asked by the IEC and whoever is nominated. It has nothing to do with me,” Gardee said.

As the EFF prepares for its leadership elections, attention remains on the party’s top positions and who will take on key roles in shaping its future.
