Man Shot and Robbed in Amoutana, KZN; Community Assists Victim

A 38-year-old man was shot and robbed in Amoutana, KwaZulu-Natal, on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 10:18 AM when the victim was walking along a footpath. According to eyewitness accounts, a lone gunman approached the man and shot him without warning, striking him in the abdomen.

The suspect attempted to fire a second shot, but the firearm reportedly jammed. The assailant then stole the victim’s cellphone and cash before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

Emergency services were alerted, and Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) officers arrived to find the injured man on the road, surrounded by local residents. The victim was bleeding heavily from his wound. Witnesses stated that the community members had carried the man to the road and promptly contacted RUSA for assistance.

The incident remains under investigation, with authorities working to track down the suspect.
