Disaster management teams are on high alert in six provinces as severe weather conditions are expected to hit parts of the country.

The South African Weather Service has issued a Level 6 warning for severe thunderstorms, in effect until Tuesday, with KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, North West, and Mpumalanga identified as high-risk areas.

Weather forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela has warned that the storms could lead to localized flooding in these provinces. Residents in affected regions are urged to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions as emergency teams monitor the situation closely.
