Police are actively searching for a man wanted in connection with the abduction and murder of a seven-year-old boy in Pietermaritzburg.
The child's body was discovered face down inside the man's shack at the Ezinketheni informal settlement on Saturday. His hands and legs were bound.
The boy had been missing since Thursday afternoon after being sent to a local spaza shop.
KZN police spokesperson Jay Naicker stated that the suspect is known to the family. "When the child did not return, the family contacted the police after attempting to find him. Upon arrival, the police were directed to the suspect.
“The suspect was not at home. Police forced the door open and found the child lying dead with stab wounds."
