Durban politician Visvin Reddy is slated to make another court appearance in June.

The 53-year-old made an appearance at the Chatsworth Magistrates Court on Wednesday. He faces charges following a video surfacing in which he allegedly threatened civil unrest if the new MK Party was not included on the ballot paper for the 2024 general elections. According to Natasha Kara, the spokesperson for the NPA in KwaZulu-Natal, Reddy was released on a warning. Kara stated, "Reddy appeared on a charge of contravening section 17 of the Riotous Assemblies Act, where he is alleged to have incited public violence.

He appeared on summons, and the matter was transferred to the Durban regional court."
