Not because you’re wrong but because it’s easier than reflecting on themselves and if you’re not careful you start believing it.
You start shrinking to keep the peace.
Staying quiet to avoid conflict. Tolerating what hurts just to stay included. You see, peace that costs you your voice is not peace.
Belonging that requires you to betray yourself is not belonging.
Wisdom is learning this:
Not everyone deserves access to you. Not every environment deserves your energy and not every opinion deserves space in your mind.
You are allowed to take up space.
To speak clearly, to stand without shrinking even if it makes others uncomfortable because the moment you stop abandoning yourself to make others comfortable
everything begins to change.
